Rubatex Msds Cape May County has filed suit against several former and current tenants at the Cape May Airport, claiming they have polluted the soil, which endangers the groundwater.

Rubatex Rubber The suit contains details on each company alleged to have polluted the airport grounds, which were acquired in 1947 by the county from the U.S. Navy and beginning in 1949 were developed as an industrial park. In 1998, the Delaware River and Bay Authority leased much of the airport from the county and it took over many of the industrial tenants.

Rubatex Tape The suit names the Resdel Corporation, which began leasing a site in 1949, and later had other names such as Orion Resdel Corporation and Orion Research Inc. The company made epoxy and resin products. The suit alleges it left behind arsenic, cadmium and volatile organic compounds.

Rubatex Closing Mid East Marine and Industrial Corp had a bus-fleet maintenance facility and sublet space to the Lion Corp for a limousine and bus service. The suit alleges Lion Corp allowed discharges of petroleum products and human sewage laced with bacteria, some of which are pathogens.

Rubatex Closed Cell Gasketing "...the greenish fluid being discharged by Lion was actually the chemical toilet discharge consisting of a blue chemical toilet fluid mixed with yellow urine ..." states the suit.

Felpro Gaskets The suit also names TMK Decorating and M.C. Decorating., which prepared glassware for etching and labeling. It says the companies contaminated the soil with chromium and lead.

Poly Products Supplies The suit says APA Services began leasing at the airport in 1967 and eventually assigned its lease of a hangar to Classic Air Services. Both companies have now dissolved but allegedly left behind petroleum products, arsenic and other chemicals.

Poly Hunting Feeders Everlon Fabrics Corp., which later traded under similar names, began leasing airport land in 1982 and operated until 1986. The company manufactured fabrics and treated waste effluent from fabric dying operations. Some hydroxide sludge from this operation has been cleaned up, but other contaminants have been found.

Shoreline 13171 17 Neoprene Charles Ickel & Sons Inc, a company that does engine repairs, is alleged to have polluted the ground with chemical cleaning solvents.

Neoprene Pads These are just some of the companies. The suit says there are other parties, referred to as "John Does," that have not yet been named.

Neoprene Seat Covers The suit says the discharges are "egregious and the result of gross misconduct." It says they pose "an imminent and substantial danger to the public health, safety, welfare and the environment." It says the pollutants in the groundwater will "continue to migrate" and injure the environment.

Rubber Manufacturer Court papers claim violation of state laws including the Spill Act, Water Pollution Control Act, Solid Waste Management Act, and the County Environmental Health Act. The county claims, among other things, that the pollution could affect the marketable value of the property.
