Nuance Communications, Inc. ( NUAN) today announced financial results for the fourth fiscal quarter ended September 30, 2007. Nuance reported revenues of $179.9 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2007, a 40 percent increase over revenues of $128.1 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2006. On a GAAP basis, Nuance recognized a net loss of $3.4 million, or $(0.02) per share, in the quarter ended September 30, 2007, compared with a net loss of $7.2 million, or $(0.04) per share, in the quarter ended September 30, 2006.

Rubatex 180 The 18 parties, current and former local companies or business owners, were found responsible. All have paid the bill, according to the DEP.

GAAP adjusted net income for the nine months ended August 31, 2007 was $20.7 million, or $0.80 per diluted share, GAAP adjusted net income for the nine months ended August 31, 2006 of $24.5 million, or $1.09 per diluted share. GAAP adjusted EBITDA for the nine months ended August 31, 2007 was $37.4 million, compared to $40.5 million for the nine months ended August 31, 2006.

Rubatex 180 Fs The settlement is for back payment only and allows the DEP to continue cleanup on some of these sites with the companies footing the bill, according to the DEP.

Rubatex 1800 The highest levels of contamination were found in the center of town near Troy Road, Ridgedale Avenue and Deforest Avenue, but contaminants were found throughout the 10-square miles of the township.

Rubatex 320 "It's townwide-- a pervasive problem with low levels of contaminants," Mumford said.

Rubatex 373 The main pollutant found was trichloroethylene, a cleaning solvent used to degrease metals. It is also found in rug cleaners and paints. The federal Environmental Protection Agency has listed the chemical as a probable human carcinogen.

Rubatex Rubber In 1982, the township found contaminants in the municipal well. By 1984 a treatment system was installed on the well. Since then, whenever a private well was found to be contaminated, the DEP and East Hanover would install a treatment system or connect the residences to the municipal well.

Rubatex Tape Between 1998 and 1999, the DEP and township connected about 240 properties with private wells to the existing water system and extended water lines to one area.

Rubatex Closing Environmental advocates applaud the settlement. "It's important to see the DEP put some force back into enforcements," said Jeff Tittel, director of the Sierra Club's New Jersey chapter.

Rubatex Closed Cell Gasketing The DEP said it is increasing its efforts to pursue damage settlements.

Felpro Gaskets East Hanover can expect more settlements to come. Ten parties have not yet settled. Three have agreed to let the DEP perform the cleanup. Of the seven refusing to allow the DEP to clean up, Chemical Components Inc. has been deemed the highest risk. The DEP has begun an investigation on the property, Mumford said.
