After prowling the flats during low-light conditions, seatrout move to deeper water where surface lures may not be effective - but that doesn't mean you have to stop fishing. Given the opportunity to feed while deep, trout willingly oblige. "Deep" is a relative term that depends upon the body of water you're fishing. With the sun high overhead, moving out from the flats to where you can no longer see the bottom puts you in prime water to catch seatrout.
